last night of 2013

what a night!
ever heard  of bottle service?
i never had until keifer informed me that was what we were doing on new years eve night.
let me just share with you what google told me it was before i fill you in on our experience:

"bottle service is the sale of liquor by the bottle in lounges and nightclubs.
the purchase of bottle service typically includes a reserved table for the patron's party and mixers of the patron's choice. bottle service can include the service of a VIP host, who will ensure that patrons have sufficent mixers and will often make drinks using the patron's liquor bottle and mixers. the purchase of bottle service sometimes results in cover charge being waived for the purchaser's party, and often allows patrons to bypass enntrance lines. the tip is also often included in the price."

i don't know about you, but i read this and first thought was: "no way. i'm going to 'be rich' for a night."
but anyways, our experience:

no one knew what was going on. i guess it started with eight people paying their share of the price.
those eight people were suppose to receive one bottle of liquor and two bottles of champagne.
but... those eight people invited 1000 friends of their own each (ok, so maybe that is an exageration), and just because fifty people show up doesn't mean you get more bottles.
finding this out maybe two hours before hand, keifer and i packed my purse with nine shooters, and we "pregamed" with some beer.
(remember: we pregamed with beer and packed shooters. for those of you that have never heard "beer before liquor, makes you sicker. liquor before beer, you're in the clear." well knowledge of this saying helps understand why remembering what i just mentioned, is important - maybe a hint to where my night is going to be going)

so, at "the exchange" - the club we went to, which is on the third story - the line to get in is on the first floor right as you enter the building, but as google said, we got to move to the very front and didn't have to pay the new years eve cover charge of $30.00 per person.
we were then escorted to our section that was roped off by those thick red velvet cords like they have in movie theaters. and jarael's (keifer's roommate and good friend who i have known longer than i have keifer) name on a "reserved" card.

...so far so good.

but, like we imagined, that one bottle of liquor didn't last long - maybe 5 minutes.
so, molly (one of keifer and jarael's friends) bought me a drink at the bar - at the time i thought i could use another one.
anyways, everything was going good: met some new people, took a lot of photos, had a lot of laughs, took a few shots - that's not good -but overall, just a fun time.

...and then, miriah (yes, i refer to myself in third person quite often) went from fun to "keifer, you need to get me home now"... there was no inbetween.
but it was maybe five minute until midnight and he insisted we stay that much longer.
and i am glad we did, because this being our forth new years "together", we finally got our first new years kiss - i know, how cute;)

anyways, we made it home safe all thanks be to keifer!
i felt gross and don't remember a thing after my head hit the pillow.
so it was good night to me with my lesson learned...
liquor before beer, ALWAYS!

new years day was relaxing - well needed.
and even though i had a blast the night before, i'm thinking next year we should just stay in for the night with some munchies, movies, wine, and board games?!
